4th of July Party Ideas

Independence Day parties are all about red, white, and blue.  It’s one of the few holidays that are a huge reason to celebrate, and everyone celebrates!  It’s always fun for both kids and adults, and it’s a good excuse to get family and friends together for good food and good drinks.

Majority of 4th of July parties take place in someone’s backyard.  If you don’t have many trees to provide shade, then renting a tent or canopy may be a good idea.  Having a good amount of shade will provide a cool place for guests to relax.  It’s also a nice to have plenty of seating available.  When it’s time to eat, you don’t want your guests scrambling around looking for a shaded area to sit.  Independence Day parties are all about BBQ’s.  Everything from hamburgers, hotdogs, steaks, chicken, and corn will go on the grill.  The main course tends to be the easy part and the side dishes or desserts tend to be a little more challenging.  It’s a fun idea to make desserts that are red, white, and blue for your guests.  There are so many easy ones that are super easy, but make it look like you put some effort into it.  You pretty much can’t go wrong with red strawberries, white whipped cream, and blue blueberries.  Any combination of those three ingredients not only looks patriotic, but they taste great too!  You can easily substitute strawberries for any red fruit like watermelon or raspberries.  The white whipped cream can be substituted with bananas, yogurt, ice cream, or anything white.  The blueberries are a bit for challenging to substitute as there aren’t many blue foods out there, but you can get creative with blue M&M’s or blue icing.  The possibilities are endless and your party can look (and taste) really great with very little effort.

Sit back and enjoy your 4th of July party.  Hopefully you get to see some fireworks while you are eating a delicious red, white, and blue dessert.
