Spring Cleaning? No Way! Tents and Events List Three Better Ways to Spend Your Spring

The long winter is slowly coming to an end. March 20th marks the first day of spring in 2013 and, believe it or not, spring lasts all the way until June 21st. There is plenty to do outdoors in the Philadelphia area during spring. Tents and Events know how to have a great time outdoors, regardless of the season. However, being that spring is almost here, it seems fitting to discuss some of the exciting events that come with the season.

1. Preakness Stakes- About a 2 hour trip, down I-95, from Philly will lead you to Pimlico Park. The 138th Preakness Stakes is taking place on May 19th at Pimlico track in Baltimore, MD.  For those of you who haven’t heard of the Preakness stakes, it is essentially an important horse race. The Preakness stakes is the second race in the series to chase down one of sport’s most difficult accomplishments, the “Triple Crown”. However, the Preakness has evolved into a gigantic event that resembles more of an outdoor concert. In fact, this year the artist Pitbull will be performing during the Preakness. Yes, ladies and gentleman, Pitbull will be performing at Pimlico Park. As you can probably already tell, the scene at the Preakness is a little different than the Kentucky Derby. Let’s just say that the Preakness is a fun way to kick off spring festivities and be outdoors!

2. Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival- This annual festival is becoming more popular each spring. Over 50,000 people come to Rittenhouse Square to indulge in great food, live music, and a ton of other fun activities. The festival will take place on Saturday, May 18th from 12 noon until 5 pm. Whether you bring a date or your family, the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival can be a great outdoor experience in the spring.

 3. Philly Beer Week- Beginning May 31st and lasting through June 9th, Philly Beer Week has become a spring tradition. Attendees can expect to try great food and beer. Also, a variety of tours through some of Philadelphia’s choice breweries are available. You’ll also be able to watch some home-brewing sessions take place while sampling some of the more unique beverages the city has to offer.

Now, if these spring events don’t suit your needs, you can always call Tents and Events and host one of your own! In fact, a tent rental in Philadelphia may be exactly what you need to start your own spring tradition.
